The first components of the OpenSpime technology platform are available as a set of extensions to the XMPP protocol, released in open source.

The developers who are interested in becoming part of the OpenSpime community, and to use the OpenSpime protocol in their projects can start immediately, by registering an account on the OpenSpime Developer Network.

In order to kickstart the development process, a set of Python libraries are also downloadable, illustrating the use of the OpenSpime protocol set in the Python language environment.

On the OpenSpime Developer Network it is also possible to participate in the community discussions, post articles in the multi-author technical blog announcing news, and applications.
